4. What happens if my children or pets pull the station out of the ground? The Firstline GT Plus Termite Bait Stations that we use are permanently sealed and meet Consumer Products Safety Commission guidelines for Child, Resistant Packaging Certification. Other bait stations are only tamper resistant, featuring bait station caps that can be removed with a tool.
5. How long does it take the termites to infest your monitoring stations? The 7" SMARTDISC- Locator creates a moisture-retaining footprint and includes a ridged design to direct termites into the station four times faster. FMC designed it with these features based on their knowledge of termite behavior. Bait stations that do not have a channeling system don't take full advantage of termite behavior, and may not attract as much termite activity.
6. What is the active ingredient in Firstline GT Plus Termite Bait Stations that actually kills the termites and how does it work? The active ingredient is sulfluramid, a slow acting stomach toxicant that kills all types of subterranean termites including reproductives. Other active ingredients, such as insect growth regulators may take longer to work, and are NOT effective against reproductives since they do not molt.
